This is what must have thought Mayor Bloomberg, who recently banned smoking in the parks and beaches of New York City.
So, let's ban music as well.
There are now eight "quiet zones" in Central Park, one of which, ironically enough, is Strawberry Fields, a landscaped area dedicated to the memory of John Lennon, who lived nearby on Central Park West.
Fines for violations range from $50 to $200.
